Higher Shorston Bottom Lake Catch Report

I decided to give Shorston Bottom Lake a go on Tuesday. If any of our members want some peace and quiet and tranquil surroundings, give it a go. The bottom lake is not easy but I managed a couple of Carp to 10Ib. 02/09/2025

Report from Roger Johnson. Spent the day on the bottom lake at Higher Shorston. Sweet little pond that I had to myself (apart from the pleasure of a wee chat with the club sec himself!) caught a few reasonable Carp mostly off the top, including a couple on the fly rod, and a few cheekie chappies and nice Rudd float fishing corn and meat. Worth the drive to keep away from the holiday crowds in Ilfracombe! 16/08/2025
