Karen's Lake Blog

The lake construction started 7th March 2013 it took 2 weeks to complete. After completion it was discovered that we had a leak which was passing through the dam at the wood end of the site. It wasn't until July 2017, after much debate and  a few attempts by the original contractor to rectify the leak, that the club decided to employ the services of SEL Clarke to come on site to attempt to rectify the issue. This was a complete success by them and we  then reintroduced the water flow into Karen's which started to finally fill. Karen's lake opened 22nd June 2019. It is a members only venue. A lot of credit has to go to Steve Bailey and his jolly bunch of helpers for their tireless effort to make the lake what it is today. The 2 acre lake is stocked with Carp & Tench. 75 of the larger carp were taken from George's lake and transferred into Karen's. The lake record stands at 24Ib 8oz Common Carp caught 01/11/2022. The lake has 14 platforms and fishing is from platforms only. The lake has disabled access. Barbless hooks only and no braided line, ( coated braid hook length's allowed ) 2 rod max, no fixed leads.
